Data Education (formerly Boston SQL Training) was founded in early 2009 by Adam Machanic, a longtime Microsoft SQL Server MVP, author, consultant, and trainer. Machanic saw a need for quality database training at a higher, more advanced level than was currently being offered in the northeastern United States. Boston SQL Training was created and quickly filled that need.
Since then, Data Education has grown into a national, full-service training company, specializing in courses targeting DBAs, developers, and business intelligence professionals. Data Education brings the experts in the database field to its students, from bestselling SQL Server authors to the nation’s premier business intelligence consultants. A constantly expanding roster of courses is now being offered across the country, from Atlanta to New York to St. Louis.
Owner and Founder
Adam founded Data Education as part of his ongoing efforts to share knowledge within the SQL Server community. Besides offering some of the best database courses out there, Adam is a Microsoft MVP, the co-founder of SQLblog.com, a veteran conference speaker, the author/co-author of several high-selling books on SQL Server development, and a very busy trainer and consultant. In rare free moments, he spends far too much time watching the Food Network and developing his cocktailian hobby.
Kate has been with Data Education since 2009, tackling the world of database training after several years in educational publishing and journalism. Active in identifying what veteran and prospective students want to learn their next time in a classroom, Kate is always eager to develop new instructor and student relationships. When she’s not working Data Ed’s social media circuit or prepping students for their upcoming courses, she is known to indulge in baking (the most fattening kind, naturally) and the occasional hike.
